Job Description Clinician

Job Title: Clinician

Reports to: Clinical Supervisor

Summary: Clinician assesses clients for diagnosis and treatment needs. Clinician will use evidenced based psychological treatment modalities and techniques to address identified issues and concerns, in accordance with the treatment plan.

The Company provides individual, family and group psychotherapy which is outlined in the individualized treatment plan. Clinician operates from a wellness perspective, which emphasizes moving toward optimal human functioning in mind, body, and spirit, and away from distress, dysfunction, and mental illness.

Education services are provided during the treatment process dealing with mental health issues, symptom management, medication issues, parenting issues, and any other education needs.  The psychotherapy recovery treatment plan is reviewed with the client, or the parent or guardian if the client is a minor, and the behavioral health clinic staff involved in the case, and the treatment plan is amended at that time if deemed necessary.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families, or groups.  This will entail the application of clinical psychotherapy principles, interventions, methods and/or procedures to assist clients in achieving therapy goals.
  • If applicable, administer and interpret psychological tests such as depression scales, MMPI and others.
  • Complete psychotherapy treatment plans as needed. 
  • Complete quarterly psychotherapy progress reports as required.
  • Complete all evaluations, assessments, documentation, billing and reports in a timely manner and in accordance with due dates and State regulations.   
  • Complete continuing education requirements for licensure.
  • Monitor the After Hours Phone during assigned weeks.
  • Provide educational opportunities for agency staff.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and refer or link client to additional services needed.
  • Collaborate care with other service providers.
  • Attend collaboration meetings, including 20 511A meetings.
  • Attend court if subpoenaed by the court.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings

Qualifications Required:

  • Licensed in the state of Idaho as a Social Worker or Counselor.

   May be completed upon hire

  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Successfully pass a background check

Education Required: Master’s Degree in Social service field.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret assessments and plans. Ability to speak, read, and write the English language.

Physical Demands:

The employee is regularly required to:

  • talk, hear, stand, walk, and sit
  • use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects
  • use tools or controls
  • reach with hands and arms
  • ambulate short distances

Work Environments: Indoor office setting. Optionally, walking or sitting outside with clients. Positive Connections Plus is a pet friendly facility and keeps cats as emotional support animals that are available for use in sessions. One on one, family, or group in person or via telehealth services. Ambient sound from clients in the children’s program and other office operations.

Pay: Pay depends on experience.
